Spam volumes seem to be climbing again after a lull. 60 over the weekend and
20+ so far today. I have not analysed headers, but are the rest of the
community noticing this gradual increase?

Oh. That's disappointing. I was actually thinking that the spam level had
dropped over the weekend.

Mine too. But they're easily recognisable for deleting unread.

Many do me the compliment of assuming I can read German, which I
can't. Others have weird combinations of letters - presumably
non-Latin fonts. Most seem to think I need anatomically enhancing.
Quite a few think I need to know the time.

Not really complaining: I'm not swamped, but the amount has increased
latterly.

I saw no reduction as was predicted would happen after the upgrade,
just the steady rise as noted by others.

Incidentally do the telephones at Orpheus work? I have been leaving
messages since before Christmas, they go unanswered!!

Spam fluctuates, as already stated. It's a never ending battle, but we're
still blocking around 95% of it.

I'm out of the office this morning, but you can still email support @
orpheus and I can pick up emails.

Seems to be much better this morning, only two - Software and Legal Software
- both masquerading as legitimate business marketing. If you have got your
person to tweak it, thanks Paul.

That's odd. I was just thinking it needed another tweak because I had more
than usual through myself this morning!

I guess different addresses are targeted differently at different times!

Well that would confirm the uneven pattern of problem that different users
are experiencing. Possibly attempting to break up mailings to one ISP to
avoid bulk mail rules.

I had two genuine e-mails and 15 spam! (including Nationwide, Halifax and
Paypal phishing. I wish you could get rid of these.

Virtually the only ones I get here come from an address which the Son
has forwarded to him here. He's supposed to have had these directed
elsewhere, but his colleague who was supposed to do this doesn't seem
to be able to do this. These (25-39 daily) get deleted unseen by the
Hermes spam rules, and of other spams I get a maximum of about five
per day.

I have noticed, however, that a lot of messages now once more get only
the greylist headers, and not the SpamAssassin ones. :-(

With best wishes,

Peter.
